Keep It Small
Kaimuki is one of the hippest areas to kick it with friends, since this neighborhood’s got a lot of sustainable and classic food joints, bougie coffee shops, and diverse boutiques to explore. Keep It Kaimuki is a movement that brings together the community by promoting the small businesses that keep the neighborhood thriving. My friends Kanako, Kaci, Landen and I combined forces with Keep It Kaimuki to create a little tour guide of some of the businesses you can expect to find should you be strolling up and down Waialae Ave on Small Business Saturday.
If you didn’t get yourself a Keep It Kaimuki (KIK) tote bag or shirt, best to grab one now or the first thing on Saturday so that you’re eligible for discounts up to 25% off at participating businesses! Here are several locations in Kaimuki to hit up for your holiday shopping this weekend:
Bean About Town is fairly new to the Kaimuki neighborhood. Located in the Park Center Bldg between Super Pho and 7-Eleven, this coffee shop takes pride in serving coffee sourced from the best roasters around the world, as well as excellent pastries like the cannelés. Seating is available inside with benches and outside with tables and high chairs. If you choose this spot as a first stop before your SBS adventure in the neighborhood, parking is available inside the building, but is limited. However be mindful to not linger in their parking too long just to be courteous of other customers who might want to go to the pho shop next door.
