#ShopSmall

I spent my Saturday afternoon to check out local businesses in downtown Honolulu. Here are what I ended up with in my Small Business Saturday Haul:

Basket Shoulder Bag | at Dawn Oahu

My first stop was the at Dawn Oahu, located in SALT at our Kaka’ako. I originally came here for Gillia bikinis, but most of their store consisted of Gillia clothing. I decided to stick around and check out the rest of the merchandise, and to my excitement I found this cute square shaped basket shoulder bag at 50% off! (Went down to $19) This past summer I’ve been searching everywhere I could think of to find a small basket handbag, and here it is. Now I’m set for farmers markets and beach time in summer 2018.

at Dawn curates apparel and accessories from places such as Bali, to emulate a sophisticated and relaxed resort lifestyle. Besides carrying other brands, they also release new lines of their own design.

Custom Keychain | Classic Dream Hawai'i

I left SALT and headed over to South Shore Marketplace and first went to Mori Hawai'i. After walking around the store, I was about to leave when I saw a table at the entrance with blank leather keychains hanging on a mini rotating rack. The owner of this station owns a business called Classic Dream Hawai'i, and she sources her materials in the US. I watched as she took each letter stamp and hammered with a mallet one at a time. She took her time to make sure my name came out straight. It's nice to know that my keychain has been ethically sourced as well as made by hand in Hawai'i. Each piece is either sold plain for $20 or is accompanied with a quartz charm for $23.

I'm debating if I should let this leather piece develop its worn look overtime or if I should just DIY it with oil. Thoughts?

Sweat Dress | Moxy Boutique Hawai'i

First of all, this flatlay doesn't do this sweat dress justice. It was super windy and rainy outside, so taking this on the grass was an absolute NO. I saw this dress on a $20 rack when I visited Moxy Boutique at the Ward Village. The type of clothes they carry are chic and sexy, which I love however most of these garments work for taller and hourglasses figures. I managed to fit this sweat dress and thought about the many ways I could style with it, including vinyl printing text.

Statement Earrings + Vintage Sunnies | POSHd

I stopped by POSHd and spun a promo the wheel that granted 20% or 30% off. I got 20% off on these chic statement earrings and then got these thick white frame sunnies on sale for $10. What's nice too is that this vintage piece has 10% UV protection; perfect for a poolside photoshoot! ;)

White Pen With Gold | Eden In Love

Eden In Love is my go to for classy stationary when it comes to shopping in-tstore. I already ordered my monthly and daily planners online, so I decided to come in to see if I could find anymore stationary goods to add to my set while supporting this local retailer. Trying to be minimal with my stationary set, I went for this white colored pen accented with gold (brass) hardware. This will be my official blog pen for when I jot down ideas, notes, and events in my planners. If you're wondering how much it costs, it was 20% off from $18.

I didn't think I was going to participate in Small Business Saturday, but I'm glad that I ended up doing so! It's a great way to find things you wouldn't be able to shop at the mall, as well as meeting new people who share the same interests in fashion. Something I'm trying to do more of to support local businesses is to promote them through FashionGabbs and my Instagram. I have hope that fashion industry in Hawai'i with continue to progress as we continue to do events like Small Business Saturday and Art + Flea. Please feel free to check out the businesses listed here as well as the other businesses from my previous story, Art+Flea Finds.
